The right fasteners for every situation

Are you also active in the Truck, Trailer & Coach building industry? Then you know better than anyone that you have to take the environment, quality, reliability, uptime, safety and punctuality into account. We therefore serve customers in this industry from a stock principle with a range of standard fasteners. If a standard fastener is not suitable, we will develop a custom fastener and contact one of our production partners. We also offer you relevant C-parts and MRO-parts. Think of tools, safety equipment, electronics and hydraulic and pneumatic components.

Your TCO down

When it comes to managing inventory in the production process, there is no room for waste. If you have too much inventory, profitability can drop. At the same time, too little stock can lead to delays in your production. With smart logistics solutions for the management of maintenance, repair and production stock, Fabory helps to optimize your stock management and lower your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This leads to more flexibility and cost control in your organization.

Most ordered fasteners in Truck, Trailer & Coach building

Which fasteners do we see the most on the order lists of customers in this industry? Those are the six fasteners below. These fasteners are mainly made of carbon steel with corrosion protection such as electrolytic galvanizing and zinc flake.

Clamping load

Clamping load distribution with flange bolts and flange nuts

Distribute the clamping load without using additional washers. This can be achieved with strong fasteners, such as flange bolts and flange nuts, which are manufactured in one piece. The non-serrated rim is rugged enough for most applications. The toothed edge is an ideal choice for industrial applications exposed to heavier loads: self-closing and more resistant to vibrations.

By eliminating the need to use washers, flange bolts and flange nuts can be tightened faster and more efficiently than many other bolts. This results in:

  • Lower labor costs
  • Greater productivity
  • Easier installation in hard-to-reach or narrow places
  • More efficient management
  • These flange fasteners are made of different grades of carbon steel in our range (screws in class 8.8/10.9 and nuts in class 8/10) with surface treatment (galvanized, zinc flakes). Stainless steel screws and nuts are also available in A2 and A4 classes.

Fasteners with zinc flake coating

Corrosion protection is a much-discussed topic in the Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding industry. Not surprising, because functional parts are exposed to high loads. The parts must also be protected against external influences and corrosion. Therefore, different coatings are available. The most common coating is zinc flake, a coating consisting of zinc and aluminium flakes connected by an inorganic matrix. The need for fasteners with a zinc flake surface coating was increasing and because production in the Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding industry must never stagnate, we supply 2,000 articles in zinc flake from stock.

The benefits of zinc flake at a glance:

  • High corrosion resistance
  • Thin layer
  • Also suitable for high tensile steel
  • No hydrogen embrittlement
  • Some degree of electrical conductivity
  • Suitable for all shapes and sizes
  • Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) free

Hundreds of zinc flake fasteners disappear in every trailer: in the chassis, the floor frame, the superstructure and various trailer components.

Zink flake coating

Trailer manufacturer

Knapen Trailers from Deurne in Brabant uses an unique variation of zinc flake fasteners from Fabory. On the shop floor of the producer of moving floor trailers, employees reach for many thousands of Fabory articles with a zinc flake treatment every week. Johan van Hommelen, a strategic purchaser at Knapen Trailers, explains that the corrosion resistance of the fasteners is an crucial factor for the company. “Our trailers, and therefore also the fastening materials used, are exposed to wind and weather year after year. The influence of the weather on the materials is significant.”

Hundreds of zinc flake fasteners disappear in every trailer: the chassis, the floor frame, the superstructure and various trailer components. The stock management of the zinc flake fasteners remains stable thanks to an RFID solution. “The complete ordering process, including that of the zinc flake fasteners, is taken care of”.

Blind riveting

Blind riveting is a commonly used fastening technique within the Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding industry. This technique is used in almost every bus, truck or trailer. From the front to the back and everything in between the cab, seats, chassis, roof rails, safety structures, floor systems and much more.

Depending on the application, a standard blind rivet or a blind rivet nut can get the job done. Fabory has available structural blind rivets and lockbolts for the more critical applications in this industry.
