Interactive workshop helps Faes rethink fastening methods
Faes (Reusel, NL), known for custom industrial packaging solutions, has been a Fabory customer for over 30 years. To support Faes in optimizing their fastener use, Fabory’s account manager Pieter van Wijk suggested a focused on-site training session for the engineering team. “We wanted to help them improve their purchasing and design processes. Which factors play a role in choosing the right fasteners? We explained this during the training,” Pieter says.
Interactive workshop for engineers
Fabory expert Edwin de Lange delivered a four-hour interactive workshop to thirteen Faes engineers. Being a family business serving high-tech clients like ASML, Philips, and the Dutch Defence Ministry, Faes understands the importance of precision. Not only in packaging design but also in selecting the proper bolts, nuts, and other fasteners. The training covered both commonly used and new, alternative fastening methods, giving the team a fresh perspective on what’s possible. By updating their knowledge (and introducing the latest techniques), Fabory prompted Faes’ engineers and production staff to re-evaluate their current practices.
New insights and improvements in practice
Tim van de Puttelaar, department manager at Faes, noted: “Fabory’s presentation offered a fresh look at the possibilities in our field. It highlighted widely-used as well as new alternative fastening methods. This knowledge update makes you, as a manufacturer, think.
