Haro header

Haro Aluminium Veenendaal develops, produces and installs aluminium frames, conservatories, doors, façade elements, curtain walls and other aluminium façade constructions. Its customers include architects, construction companies and project developers. In the warehouse, purchaser Willem Denneman manages the products required by Haro's production teams and has been working with production stock for more than thirty years.

The ordering process has changed considerably during that time. Where Willem once wrote Fabory article numbers on a notepad, he can now scan products with his work phone and use FastScan together with MyFabory to prepare and complete the next order.

30+ years

Willem has more than thirty years of experience managing production stock at Haro.

Daily stock checks

He walks through the warehouse each day to identify products required by Haro's technicians.

Smartphone ordering

Products can be scanned in the warehouse and then reviewed in MyFabory before the order is submitted.

The challenge: moving beyond handwritten article numbers

When Willem first ordered products from Fabory, the process was manual. Article numbers were written down before the order was prepared, adding an extra step between checking warehouse stock and placing the order.

With technicians depending on a wide range of products for their daily work, Willem needed a practical way to identify what was required while walking through the warehouse and transfer those products into an order without repeatedly recording article numbers by hand.

The solution: FastScan and MyFabory

Today, Willem uses FastScan in the Fabory app on his work phone. When he identifies an article that needs ordering, he can scan its barcode while he is standing beside the warehouse shelves.

The scanned products are added to the Fabory shopping cart. Willem can then log into MyFabory from his computer, review the complete order and adjust quantities before submitting it.

MyFabory also gives Willem visibility of the order process, allowing him to see which orders have been processed and which are still pending.

This combination allows the stock check to remain mobile while giving Willem the larger-screen overview he prefers when finalising an order.

From warehouse shelf to order

1. Check the shelves

Willem walks through the warehouse and identifies the products needed by the production teams.

2. Scan the article

He scans the product barcode directly with FastScan on his work phone.

3. Open MyFabory

The scanned products are available in the shopping cart when Willem logs in on his computer.

4. Review and order

Quantities can be checked or changed before the completed order is submitted.

Making repeat orders easier

MyFabory also helps Willem when an article is not immediately available to scan. Previously ordered products can be searched for again, making it easier to identify familiar items without relying on remembered article numbers.

Product information is useful when details need to be checked, such as the length of a drill bit or the specification of a machine tap. Frequently ordered drills and screws can also be kept together for easier repeat ordering.

The scale of individual requirements can vary. Willem gives the example of regularly ordering chipboard screws in quantities of 2,000 at a time, making an accurate and repeatable ordering process particularly useful.

“Placing orders through the Fabory app goes smoothly, allowing me to quickly move on to other work awaiting me.”

More time for other warehouse activities

Once the order has been prepared, Willem can move on to other responsibilities in the warehouse. These include requesting quotations and making reservations for the workshop.

The change from handwritten article numbers to smartphone scanning has therefore made the ordering workflow more straightforward while keeping Willem in control of what is ordered and in what quantity.

A practical digital ordering process

Haro's approach is deliberately simple. Stock is still checked by the person who knows the warehouse and the requirements of the production teams, while FastScan removes the need to manually record each article number during that process.

Combining smartphone scanning with MyFabory gives Willem a practical route from warehouse shelf to completed order, makes frequently purchased products easier to find and reorder, and provides visibility of orders that have already been processed or are still pending.
