At Life & Mobility in Doetinchem, efficiency, clarity and reliability are important parts of the production environment. The company develops innovative wheelchairs and mobility scooters and has introduced eleven two-bin shelving units combined with a Fabory Logic RFID Dropbox to support inventory management on the production floor.
The installation now provides more than twelve metres of two-bin shelving. When the first bin is empty, the operator places it in the RFID Dropbox. The system automatically registers consumption and triggers replenishment, while production can continue using the second bin.

Simplifying inventory management on the production floor
Life & Mobility selected a combination of two-bin shelving and RFID technology to support its production process. The system is designed so that a second bin remains available when the first becomes empty.
This means employees do not need to create a manual order when a bin requires replenishment. Instead, returning the empty bin through the RFID Dropbox registers the consumption and starts the replenishment process automatically.
The approach helps maintain access to stocked items while reducing the manual work involved in managing replenishment.

The installation was designed with both function and appearance in mind. The shelving units are branded with the Life & Mobility logo, helping them fit into a professional and well-organised working environment.
A team of Fabory merchandisers carried out the installation in collaboration with Solution Engineer Raymond van Dongen. Working together with the Life & Mobility shop floor team kept disruption to a minimum, and production continued during the installation.
