Simplified VMI Monitor improves efficiency in the warehouse

At AVR, a specialist in agricultural machinery, everything revolves around efficiency and continuity. Following the success of Fabory Logic in the production environment, attention also turned to optimizing warehouse operations. There, the standard VMI Monitor proved not to be fully aligned with the daily activities of warehouse employees.

From complex report to practical tool

A large part of the data available in the VMI Monitor was not directly relevant to the warehouse team. As a result, employees were spending unnecessary time interpreting information and determining the right actions. Sales representative Katrien Van Steirteghem took the initiative to work with AVR in search of a solution. In September 2025, a demo session was organized with the warehouse team. During this session, feedback was collected directly from the employees who work with the report on a daily basis.

Van Steirteghem: “By collecting feedback directly from the people who work with it every day, we were able to determine exactly which information is truly essential for their daily activities.” Based on this input, Fabory developed a simplified version of the report: the VMI Monitor Lite.

Faster insights, fewer questions

The first version of the new report was enthusiastically received by AVR employees. After a testing period and additional feedback, the Lite version was further refined and officially activated.

The results quickly became visible on the work floor. Employees were able to find and interpret the right information more quickly, making daily warehouse processes more efficient. “One of the most noticeable results is that the purchasing department now receives significantly fewer questions from the warehouse about product availability,” says Van Steirteghem.

Collaboration between departments also improved. Communication between the warehouse and purchasing became clearer and more efficient, as teams now work with a simpler and more structured report.

Practical solution with broader applicability

After several months of use, AVR indicated that they were satisfied with the new way of working, and no further adjustments were needed. The simplified VMI Monitor Lite proved to be a good fit for day-to-day practice and significantly improved usability on the work floor.

The success also did not go unnoticed. Other Fabory customers have since shown interest in this simplified reporting. Together with the Standalone version, the VMI Monitor Lite is a valuable addition to warehouse operations, offering greater flexibility and improved efficiency across a variety of customer environments.
