We’re pleased to announce the UK warehouse is now OPEN
Vekoma

Vekoma Rides, headquartered in Vlodrop in the Netherlands, designs and manufactures roller coasters and attractions. After expanding its spare-parts warehouse in the Netherlands, Vekoma wanted a more efficient way to manage the fasteners and components required by its teams.

The objective was to reduce the time spent checking stock and creating replenishment orders manually while improving fastener availability. Vekoma selected Fabory Logic RFID to automate the replenishment process.

Results at a glance

Automated replenishment

RFID automatically triggers the replenishment process when an empty bin is returned to the designated RFID shelf.

Less manual stock checking

Vekoma's purchasing team spends less time checking inventory and creating replenishment orders manually.

Improved fastener availability

Automated replenishment helps reduce the risk of fastener shortages in the spare-parts warehouse.

The challenge: managing fastener replenishment efficiently

Vekoma operates in an industry with stringent safety and quality requirements. Within its spare-parts operation, having the required fasteners available is an important part of supporting efficient day-to-day activities.

As the warehouse expanded, manually monitoring stock levels and creating replenishment orders required additional time from the purchasing team. Vekoma therefore looked for a solution that could simplify this process and reduce the risk of shortages and urgent orders.

The solution: Fabory Logic RFID

Vekoma implemented Fabory Logic RFID to automate fastener replenishment. Instead of relying on repeated manual stock checks, an empty bin is returned to a designated RFID shelf, where the system registers the replenishment requirement and initiates the next step in the supply process.

This creates a more structured flow between fastener consumption and resupply, reducing the amount of routine inventory administration required from Vekoma's purchasing team.

How RFID replenishment works

1. Fasteners are consumed

Vekoma's teams take the required fasteners from the managed stock as part of their normal activities.

2. Empty bin is returned

When a bin is empty, it is placed on the designated RFID replenishment shelf.

3. Replenishment is triggered

The RFID system registers the bin and triggers replenishment without Vekoma needing to create a manual stock order.

4. Stock is replenished

Fabory replenishes the required fasteners to help maintain appropriate stock availability.

Reducing manual inventory work

Automating the replenishment trigger reduces the amount of time Vekoma needs to spend checking fastener stock and preparing routine replenishment orders.

It also helps reduce the operational pressure associated with unexpected shortages and urgent orders. For Vekoma, the result is a simpler inventory process and improved fastener availability.

“Fabory's RFID solution is a bullseye. It saves us a lot of time and guarantees the availability of fastening materials.”

A simpler approach to fastener replenishment

Vekoma's use of Fabory Logic RFID demonstrates how automated replenishment can reduce routine inventory administration while supporting fastener availability.

By connecting the replenishment requirement directly to the supply process, Vekoma's purchasing team can spend less time monitoring routine fastener stock and focus more attention on its wider purchasing activities.
