In 2022, Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating Machines began looking for a new fastener supplier. After defining the required items, Fabory implemented Fabory Logic at four Ganz locations, establishing and maintaining an inventory of 30 specialised and 180 standard items.
Fabory manages the inventory of these small fasteners using a combination of one-bin and two-bin systems, reducing the amount of time Ganz Electric employees need to spend managing C-parts.

The challenge: keeping fasteners available across multiple locations
Ganz Electric produces transformers, steel structures, motors and generators for power generation and distribution. These products contain many fastening points, making the availability of the correct bolts, nuts and other fasteners important on the assembly floor.
Ganz Electric also has its own engineering department and can implement design changes quickly. This makes it important that the required components are available when they are needed in production.
Managing these small C-parts efficiently therefore supports the day-to-day production process.
Fabory Logic across four Ganz locations
Fabory rolled out Fabory Logic across four Ganz locations. The solution covers 30 specialised and 180 standard items.
Fabory takes over the inventory management of these small fasteners, using one-bin and two-bin systems as part of the replenishment process.
One-bin replenishment for regular consumables
Regular consumables are managed using a one-bin system. Each item has a dedicated bin that is periodically checked and replenished by a Fabory merchandiser.
A Fabory merchandiser visits weekly to scan the bins and refill or replace those that are empty. This reduces the need for Ganz Electric employees to manage and order these C-parts themselves.
Two-bin management for critical fasteners
Selected critical fasteners are managed using a two-bin system. Each item is stored in two bins, creating a buffer between consumption and replenishment.
As soon as the first bin is empty, it serves as the signal to automatically generate a new order. Production can then switch to the second bin, which provides a buffer until new stock arrives.
This two-bin approach, also known as a kanban system, helps Ganz Electric maintain the required stock level for critical fasteners.

Less time spent managing C-parts
Before the Fabory Logic implementation, employees could spend time searching for missing bolts or waiting for urgent deliveries during busy periods.
With the required fasteners organised in Fabory bins and replenishment managed through the one-bin and two-bin systems, Ganz Electric employees spend less time managing these small parts.
This allows employees to focus more of their time on their production activities.
Structured inventory management across four locations
The Ganz Electric implementation combines two inventory methods within the same Fabory Logic setup. Regular consumables are managed using the one-bin system, while selected critical fasteners are managed using the two-bin system.
Fabory supports both approaches through regular inventory management and replenishment across the four Ganz locations.
The result: less inventory management for Ganz employees
Fabory Logic provides Ganz Electric with structured inventory management for 30 specialised and 180 standard items across four locations.
Weekly Fabory merchandiser visits, organised bin storage and the one-bin and two-bin systems reduce the amount of time Ganz Electric employees need to spend managing C-parts.
The setup also helps maintain access to the fasteners required on the assembly floor while employees concentrate on their core production activities.
