This hex nut, featuring BSW threading per BS 1083, is machined from bright free-cutting steel on a lathe. Because the bright steel is left untreated, it offers little inherent corrosion resistance on its own. The nut meets Grade A strength requirements and comes with British Standard Whitworth threading. Whitworth threads (BSW/BSF) aren't recommended internationally these days—for new builds, we suggest going with metric (M/MF/MEF) or Unified (UNC/UNF) threads instead. Dimensions may vary slightly depending on availability.
