This low-profile hex nut, manufactured to DIN 439-2 and ISO 4035 standards, is a thin jam nut with a reduced height, made from steel with a hot-dip galvanized finish. Rated at strength class 040, it's designed to lock other nuts in place and prevent them from vibrating loose. The metric thread is oversized to tolerance class 6AZ and should be paired with externally threaded components—such as bolts or threaded rods—cut to tolerance class 6g prior to galvanizing. Since the thread is tapped after galvanizing, it doesn't carry a zinc coating of its own. Corrosion resistance is maintained through the zinc layer on the mating part, which protects the thread.
