This hex nut with a metric fine thread is manufactured to DIN 934 standards and made from bright free-cutting steel—raw steel without any coating or surface treatment. Bright steel is strong, but on its own it offers little protection against corrosion. The nut has a strength class of |6|. Please note: class |6| nuts are rated according to DIN 267-4 and have a lower load capacity than class 6 nuts rated to ISO 898-2. Under mechanical overload, the threads on either the nut or bolt may strip.
