This hex nut is made to DIN 934 specs and manufactured from plain steel—steel with no coating or surface treatment. The material is strong, but on its own it offers little resistance to corrosion. The nut has a strength class of |12| and features a metric thread. Please note: class |12| nuts are rated for strength according to DIN 267-4 and have a lower load capacity than a class 12 nut per ISO 898-2. Mechanical overloading can cause the threads of the nut or bolt to strip.
