This DIN 934 hex nut is made of steel with a hot-dip galvanized finish and features oversized metric threads. Manufactured to tolerance class 6AZ, it's designed to pair with externally threaded fasteners—such as bolts or threaded rods—that were tolerance class 6g before galvanizing. Since the threads are tapped after galvanizing, the nut itself has no zinc coating; corrosion protection comes from the zinc layer on the mating part. Please note: Class |8| nuts are rated according to DIN 267-4 and have a lower load capacity than class 8 nuts rated to ISO 898-2. Mechanical overloading can cause the threads on either the nut or the bolt to strip.
