This hex nut, manufactured to DIN 934 specifications, is made of hot-dip galvanized steel and features metric threading. Rated at strength class |8| with a 6H tolerance class, this nut meets the DIN 267-4 standard—please note that class |8| nuts have a lower load capacity than class 8 nuts under ISO 898-2. Mechanical overloading can strip the threads on either the nut or the bolt. For proper use, pair this nut with externally threaded fasteners that had a 6az tolerance class prior to galvanizing. Since the threads are tapped after galvanizing, they don't carry a coating themselves—corrosion resistance is provided by the zinc layer on the mating part.
