Stud metal end ≈ 1,25d BSW Steel Plain 5.6

Article number
Class 5.6
Material Steel
Thread direction Right
Surface treatment Plain
Thread British Standard Whitworth
Info
  • Depending on availability, class 5.8 can be supplied instead of class 5.6.
    • Whitworth thread (BSW) is not internationally recommended. It is advised to use metric (M) thread instead.
    • ATTENTION: when ordering these studs the proper designation is d x L, e.g. stud 5/16X25, where the working length L = 25 mm and the thread length on the metal end e = 10 mm. The overall length of the stud is 25 + 10 = 35 mm. The thread length on the nut end b = 18 mm.
    • The thread on the metal end is made with a "transition fit", which prevents loosening of the metal end of the studs during disassembly.
    • These studs, with a metal end ≈1,25d, have many applications, but are mainly intended for use in cast iron counterparts.
